IMPORTANT:
Under a CDC Order dated May 18, 2026, non-U.S. citizens who have been physically present in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Uganda, or South Sudan within the past 21 days are temporarily prohibited from entering the United States. This applies regardless of nationality and includes transit travel through any of the affected countries.
The entry ban does not apply to U.S. citizens or U.S. nationals. These individuals are permitted to enter the United States but must do so through designated airports with enhanced health screening.
On May 22, 2026, the order was expanded: lawful permanent residents (green card holders) who have been present in the DRC, Uganda, or South Sudan within the past 21 days are now also prohibited from entering the United States. This measure remains in effect until November 27, 2026, unless terminated earlier.
Travelers should expect enhanced health screening and additional questioning regarding their travel history. Airlines may independently deny boarding based on CDC guidance or operational requirements.

Cuba is listed by the United States as a “State Sponsor of Terrorism.”
All ESTAs for persons who have travelled to Cuba after 12 January 2021 will therefore become invalid.
Travellers holding an already issued ESTA and having already travelled to Cuba may be refused entry to the United States.
Applying for a new passport in order to circumvent this regulation is not permitted.
